I’ve got a new fun 5K for you ladies, yes just you ladies. The Dirty Girl Mud Run and Obstacle Course 5K to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
This is a “race” where only the first wave is timed. The rest of the day waves run, walk, or crawl around a 5K course filled with obstacles like the water pit, tire run, cargo net climb, and a mud crawl. Awesome! If you dont want to do an obstacle, then walk around – what could be better? One of their tag lines is “in the end everyone’s shoes match their outfit”. You get to laugh with your friends, get muddy, and give back for cancer. The Dirty Girl is a bit more expensive than the other races coming in at $65 or $75 depending on when you sign up. However, not only do you get the usual shirt and swag but you also get a necklace charm. Did I mention you get really really dirty 😛
My team for the Color Me Rad is PBG, which stands for both Pink Blue Green but also our show Pretty Bad Girls (or Guys for those men who are on the team 🙂 ). My Dirty Girl team is slightly changed to Pretty Dirty Girls. So, here’s the thing – I’ve signed up for this race twice. The Virginia Beach race is on May 5th and I also saw one in Baltimore (where my best friend lives) on August 10th. She and her two daughters are going to run it with me. I’m only afraid of pulling a muscle laughing at either myself or one of my friends. It seems like signing up for crazy 5K’s is becoming my obsession.
Again, if you are in the VB area and would like to do this race it is on April 27th at a yet to be named location let me know. We are the PDG running in the 9:00AM wave.
If you are in the Baltimore area and would like to do this race it is on August 10th in a yet to be named location let me know. We are the Pretty Dirty Girls running in the 10AM wave.
With both Color Me Rad and The Dirty Girl Mud run if you dont want to run for any reason but would like to come and laugh – that’s ok too. You can sign up to volunteer on their website. I know the Color Me Rad volunteers get to throw color bombs at runners – maybe the Dirty Girl volunteers get to throw mud pies! HA! We will also need someone clean to take pictures 🙂
And if you’ve got another crazy 5K for me to do – I’m itching for more!
