Praise Yourself
1March 12, 2013 by little hurdles big race
Tonight is one of my favorite episodes of The Biggest Loser – we are near the end where the contestants have to put on all the weight they have lost and do a race. It’s a great reminder of how far they have come and what they have achieved.
I was watching an episode a couple of weeks ago with my best friend and I pointed out how amazing it was that one contestant had reached 100 lbs in weight loss. He gave me this curious look and said – why are you so impressed by that? You’ve done so much more than that.
Do you take the time to praise yourself? I know that for me – I am so busy looking forward that I don’t take time to look back at all the little hurdles I jumped along the way. All those little hurdles have made for quite a race so far.
Whatever you are working towards – think about how far you have come. Even if your weight loss is 10 lbs – imagine walking around all day with a 10 lb dumbbell. You’d be exhausted! Imagine when you first started on your training regimen and where you are now – you are stronger! Remember…Little Hurdles Big Race.
For me…I can dead lift 60 lbs easy, I can do a dumbbell squat with a 45 lb dumbbell easy, I can do a pull-over with a 35 lb dumbbell easy, I can squat 115 lbs no problem. What I can’t do is lift, in any capacity, 195 lbs…but that is what my vest would weigh at The Biggest Loser tonight.
195
Nothing is ever good enough, right? But you are good enough, I am good enough. Praise yourself – you are amazing!

You lost 195 pounds! That’s unbelievable. Also amazing is that you keep on going with the exercise. I keep trying to change it up every couple weeks with different exercise because I’m not seeing results. I look forward to the day I can I LOST.
