April Challenge

As I get ready to do my last 300 body weight squats for March I am relieved it is over. Honestly my procrastination in doing them was always worse then the actual exercise. Once I start – it’s not nearly as bad as I’ve made it out to be in my mind.
I’ve been looking for a new challenge and had found on lunges. Ugh more legs and glutes. But then I found this one…
ABS! I found this on another blog – LiveFitJourney. About a month ago when I went to they gym with my pusher – I could barely do one set of 15 knee ups on the Roman Chair. I’ve been working on them about every other day and today can do 4 sets of 15 getting my knees over the bars nearly every time (those last 3 on the final 4 are a killer). I’m also supposed to be working on my plank…but I don’t like it. I especially don’t like the side plank. 😦 Which is a terrible reason not to do it – but here I am standing in defiance.
But if my work on the knee ups has taught me anything it’s that practice yields improvement. So while I am not looking forward to a 2 minute plank or any number of jack knives or (ugh) mountain climbers – I know I don’t want to do it only because it is hard. That’s the reason for the word challenge. I never ever thought that on the last day of March I’d be doing 300 body squats.
You may choose not to do this challenge – but I challenge you to do something that you’re afraid of or something you don’t want to do – especially if you are not doing it because it is hard.
You have the strength!
