Tomorrow is Too Late…

Hello Racers, its been too long…
This post may be surprising to some because of the source of the post…Oprah. Ok, so on Sunday mornings there is not much to watch at the gym while on the treadmill. Sometimes the news is too repetitive for my tastes. So, a couple of Sunday’s ago I was watching – yes – Super Soul Sunday with India.Arie. It really was a pretty good show – I like India.Arie as a singer and she’s a very inspirational person. But what really got me was this short film at the end of the show.
I can’t stop watching it! First of all that lamb is pretty cute…but also that message is exactly on point.
“She’s not waiting to act, why should we”. I spent years living a life I didn’t want because I was too scared to change. Too afraid of what others would say and being embarrassed. There is always a tomorrow full of excuses. Tomorrow is not the time to start, today is the day. If you know you need to change what in the world are you waiting for? Tomorrow is too late. We may not know exactly the route we need to take but everyone knows how to get on the path. You know what to do – just like that newborn lamb. Be honest about your feelings, join a gym, start a walking program, stop smoking, tell someone how you feel.
“How does she know not to give up?” Your mind will always convince you to stop before your body will stop. Challenge yourself – you are stronger than you know. It doesn’t take that long to see progress within yourself. You won’t be a weightlifter or a bikini model in weeks or even months. But think about how long you have been stalled. What’s one year or 6 months in comparison? The rule of thumb is 2 weeks for you to see changes, 4 weeks for others to see changes. One month? That’s nothing! I guarantee you that if you start to change while doing something that you love you will feel that vibration in your chest.
Eventually there are no more excuses because there are no more tomorrows.
“Tell me what is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

Great little film and very spot on. I sometimes think we make things too complicated. The message is simple yet so powerful.
